Overview
Hiral’s practice focuses on commercial litigation and arbitration. With over a decade of experience, she has appeared in ad-hoc and institutional arbitrations, including SIAC and ICC, as well as complex disputes before the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, NCLT, and NCLAT.
She has led major arbitrations arising from infrastructure projects, distributorship and asset purchase agreements, and property lease disputes. Her experience includes precedent-setting matters such as the NN Global curative petition before a 7-Judge Bench of the Supreme Court and a landmark Delhi High Court ruling on re-agitation of arbitral claims and partial enforcement of awards.
Beyond disputes, Hiral advises clients at the negotiation stage on contract risks, termination consequences, and settlement strategies. Her earlier work also spans criminal and white-collar prosecutions, including the 2G Spectrum and Coal Block Allocation matters, along with other high-profile corruption and disproportionate assets cases.

- Represented a public sector undertaking in four arbitrations arising out of the Kishanganga Hydro-Electric Project and in related litigation before the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court.
- Represented a private airline and its principal in litigation before the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court arising out of an arbitral award against SpiceJet and Ajay Singh.
- Represented a global coal-mining group in SIAC arbitration on a coal supply agreement, and in connected litigation on enforcement of interim orders in foreign-seated arbitrations.
- Advised and represented the Indian counterpart of a Taiwanese carbon black manufacturing company in distribution disputes, construction arbitrations, employment-related disputes, and steam sale and desalination projects.
- Represented the Indian counterpart of a Taiwanese EPC contractor in multiple arbitrations with its subcontractors arising out of disputes relating to the execution of a carbon black project.
- Advised a automobile manufacturer and distributor in a joint venture dispute with an Italian conglomerate, spanning SIAC arbitration, civil suits, writ petitions, and criminal proceedings.
- Represented a Big 4 consulting firm in Section 9 arbitration proceedings before the Delhi High Court concerning the recovery of outstanding dues.
- Represented a mining company in litigation over entitlement to mined iron ore post lease expiry and on the liability for interest on compensation for illegal mining, as determined in the Common Cause judgment.
- Advised and represented a global healthcare group on multiple contractual and regulatory disputes relating to supply and distribution arrangements.
- Represented the embassy of a Central African country before the Delhi High Court and advised the embassy of a West African nation in arbitration proceedings concerning lease disputes.
- Advised the largest American social media messenger app on potential exposure to penal actions under Indian law, based on evaluation of intermediary liabilities.
- Acted in high-profile white-collar and criminal proceedings, including the 2G Spectrum and Aircel Maxis trials, Coal Block Allocation cases, the 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots prosecutions, as well as disproportionate assets and corruption matters involving Virbhadra Singh, Lalu Prasad Yadav (IRCTC) and Neeraj Singhal (Bhushan
